I figured it was about time we announce the release of the new MeTrivia beta #2. Many of you know that for the past few months we have been working on completely rebuilding MeTrivia and adding new features. Well, last week we finally let the beast out of the gates and into the hands of the public to start testing. To our surprise, things have been working great.

Milestone 2 brings to the table many additional new features including a Trivia kit question editor that you can use to enter your own trivia questions, Completely user based kick and ban system and many more features like keyword search kit creation. The feature list is long and growing by the day. I cannot possibly list and describe everything here without taking up the entire page. You can start exploring all the new links for yourself at the top of the page or on the left hand side navigation. We will keep you informed as more becomes available.

If you try to enter MeTrivia over the next few days, we will be seeing errors pop up. This is because we are underway and on our way to our Milestone #2 migration. This is literally days away and will completely change the way you are able to play MeTrivia.

Here is a partial list of the new features already implemented.

Rebuilt Lobby
Unlimited players per room
User entered kits with unlimited questions you can enter and unlimited kits
Keyword Searches to create “On the Fly” room kits
Expanded Chat Area
Scrollable User Lists (in game)
Room parameters and details displayed from the lobby
URL parameters to launch games via links
Room tracking and player available within profiles on MeTrivia

This has all been tested and working. There are more features still being polished. Expect to see this release in the next few days!

We had a wonderful time testing our theories on MeTrivia over the winter and would like to give out a big thank you to all the people who have participated in the first beta. We are currently in the middle of re-writing (from the ground up) a Beta version 2.0 of MeTrivia. The new version will have many MANY new features including the ability to create your Metrivia kits and share them with your friends, classmates and family. You will be able to send them multiplayer trivia game invites to play both official MeTrivia kits or your own personal MeTrivia kits. Rooms will also be able to hold 50+ people instead of the 5 that are currently allowed.

Of course I am just scratching the surface of what 2.0 will be capable of. Check this page for more info in the next week.

First off, some of you guys may notice that the ranking script was updated. For most of you it won’t matter, but for those of you in the 40’s range (you know who you are) you will see that you may have lost a few levels. Its going to be harder to get farther up the food chain so to speak.

Additionally, we are hooking up a first build of the Metrivia Stats. This will NOT be real time for now, but we are working to get this real time. This is the same for profiles which are still messy. Profile stats are being worked on.

Finally, we are getting a build in place that will limit the number of duplicate questions you see. Hope to have that up today, but if not, we hope to have it next week.

We are beta testing a new trivia game called Metrivia that we have been feverishing working on over the last couple of months.

So here we are, formally announcing it so you guys can know what we have been up to and know whats going on. Keep in mind, that Metrivia is a beta and this is only one part of whats coming. Also keep in mind, that we are actively working on it, so expect updates pretty regularly. Trivia packs are being added pretty regularly as well.

So in essence, yes, your laptop suggestions allowed us to get busy as it were and pop this little monster out. Come on by and let us know what you think. One last note, you can login with your FFR account too.
